Chaos Cultures III
May 18th, 2025
7:30 pm
New Marigny Theatre
For its season finale, Versipel New Music brings you another unpredictable and exciting installment of Chaos Cultures, a concert series that mixes different streams of contemporary chamber music and experimentalism. We present a program of works infused with an environmentally conscience theme along with jazz and rock-inflected works as well as music using graphic notation.
The show includes guest composer/performer cory diane, who will perform their work for zither and electronics. The show also features the world premiere of Stephen Montalvo‘s in Discord for ensemble and electronics. Also on the program is a new graphic-score work by Versipel’s very own Sixto Franco as well as Pascal Le Boeuf‘s Wanderlust (piano trio version). We round out the show with Louis Andriessen‘s 20th century masterwork Workers Union. Additionally, we are very excited to have a guest speaker connected to our environmental themes of the show.
