Versipel New Music Presents: Pulses and Lines
The opening concert of Versipel New Music’s season brings to life works bound together by pulse, motion, and texture. From the palpable momentum of Timo Andres‘ “Safe Travels” and Zack Browning‘s “Moonthrust” to the haunting textures of Philip Glass’ “Metamorphosis” and the curiously abstract sound world of John Cage’s “Ryoanji”, each work marks time in its own unique way, pointing the way forward yet embracing its sound from one exquisite moment to the next. The concert will also feature a solo violin piece by Chinese composer Ziyang Wen, chosen from Versipel’s Call for Scores.
