Join us on February 17th for an exciting evening of powerful new chamber music from Louisiana, New York, and beyond! For our first visiting artist ensemble of the new year, we are excited to present New York’s Iktus+ Combo! Many of you will remember the high-octane performance Iktus+ Duo gave on our Visiting Artist Series. This year, ensemble director and percussionist Christopher Graham will return with a larger group – a quartet with the instrumentation of saxophone, guitar (electric and classical), piano and percussion. This unique group performs exciting repertoire for the entire quartet, but also breaks down to perform duos and trios of prismatic instrumental combinations. On the Versipel show next month, you can expect to hear world premieres by Versipel composers Kari Besharse and Philip Schuessler alongside works hot off the press from New York City and beyond!
You won’t want to miss this show. Check out their performance of “Localized Corrosion” by French composer Philippe Hurel and we will see you @ 8 pm Cafe Istanbul on the 17th!
